| A1 | Why do a website like this? Why not? The website is a fun experiment to see how fast something spreads by word of mouth. And, hey, if I make some money off of it, cool. That will also prove to others that it is, indeed, possible to do something like this yourself. If I reach my goal, then that may motivate you to take action on your own goals. That is surely worth 1 dollar to you! Hey, I may even get famous and appear on a TV show someday. Then, when you see me you can tell everyone that you helped make me rich! Then you will be looked up to, admired and even envied by everyone! It could even be a good résumé booster for you! That has to be worth one measly buck, now doesn't it? |
|
| A2 | Can I send more than one dollar? Sure. The reason that we only ask for one dollar, is that almost anyone can afford one dollar. But, if you want to give more, that will help us reach the goal quicker! If you want to put us over the top now, I will personally thank you! I will even put your photograph here on this website! Wow! You will be immortalized for ever! On the other hand, if you don't send anything, you do not want to be called a cheapskate, now, do you? Imagine the conversation at the water cooler-- "...so you didn't donate anything because you could not afford it? Whatever!" |

Can I send cash? I don't recommend sending cash through the mail. But whatever you do, if you do use the US Postal Service, please be sure to wrap, and conceal everything in a piece of paper or the like. Let's see, if you send paper money via the mail, you probably will not want to wrap it in paper money, although I'll accept it! You could, however, wrap the dollar(s) in stocks, bonds, and other securities. |
|
| A4 | Can I send currency other than US
Dollars? Not at this time. However, you can use PayPal. See the link on the Donate page. |
|
| A5 | Why is this called "FAQ"? FAQ stands for "Frequently Asked Questions", and every self-respecting website has a page of FAQs! So, in order for this website to be a website worth anything, we have made up our very own set of FAQs! Now isn't that special? |
|
| A6 | How about if I send you a check or a
money order? I'll accept checks, Money orders and Cashiers Checks, but they have to clear the bank before the data is entered into the database. Of course, you will probably want to make it worth your time and effort and just send a ten-spot or more. That'll work for me. |
|
| A7 | I just donated. When will the data be
entered into the Diary? When I am good and ready to do it! Okay, that answer is too smart-aleky. It will be entered into the database sometime after I receive it, as time allows. (Hmm, that kind of sounds like: "When I am good and ready to!") Check back often. |
|
| A8 | Is this a pyramid scheme or another
chance to rip me off?
A pyramid scheme promises that you will receive a lot of money if you give some money. This website does not claim to, nor will it give money back for money given. All you will receive, besides the chance to participate in a cool project, is an opportunity to place your name, your location, and/or a comment in the Diary when you donate a buck. Since you are not going to receive any money back, this is 100% legitimate, and legal! Not to mention that it is fun! If you are not sure, just think of it as paying a buck for your name in history! |
|
| A9 | If I give my buck by PayPal, will you
get my private info? NO! As a matter of fact, the link takes you directly to the PayPal website. Hint: when at the PayPal website, look at the address in the bar at the top of your browser. You should see that the address starts with: https://etc... The "s" means that it is a secure site. But, if you are still concerned, then you can just give the money some other way. |

At least
people have seen this! Have you donated your buck yet?
oh yeah!
